Kalachakra Stupa – Garanas

The stupa was built on the premises of the Kalachakra Kalapa Retreat Center in southwestern Styria, Austria, about an hour's drive from Graz. It is an exact copy of the stupa, built in the residence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Dharamshala, India. The stupa was built by Geshe Tenzin Dhargye from December 2000 to October 2002. The construction was overseen by Ngawang Lodoe of His Holiness the Dalai Lama Monastery in Dharamshala. Inside is incense, scriptures, valuables for everyday use. The relics were provided by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the venerable representatives of the five Tibetan Buddhist lines and other important masters. The stupa is freely accessible and has a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside.
