Choosing the Type of Stupa

Tibetan stupas most commonly appear in eight principal forms, associated with the places where the Buddha first taught the Dharma.

Most of these forms are connected to the deeds and life events of the fourth historical Buddha, Shakyamuni.

Three Types of Tibetan Buddhist Stupas

The Stupa of Enlightenment is the most important of all eight forms, as it symbolizes the goal of the Buddhist path — the realization of one’s true nature of mind, or full enlightenment.

The handcrafted production of a stupa typically takes approximately 1–2 months, depending on the selected finish. The production time is approximate and may vary.
